We had Jordan's Baptism on Saturday and we were there all day! It was snowy and we couldn't drive there, so we had our mission leader take us up to Northwest. Right after the baptism, we got a ride back to our car and drove right back up to the Northwest buidling for another baptism sister Porter had to play piano for.
We had no idea who we could put on date, so we just prayed that someone would come to us.
So at church, a less active brought his girlfriend to church and she came to us and wanted to meet. She said she has been nervous to talk to us, but she is so cute! Her name is Charlotte and she grew up Jewish but doesn't actually believe any of it. We were able to meet with her that night and she was so excited to pick a date to be baptized! Her date is May 4th and we realized that's star wars day and she goes, "Yes! I call that day!" It was a straight miracle, because she told us she didn't want to be rushed right before, but we knew we needed to put her on date, and she did!!
Right after the lesson we called our district leader and asked who needed help to hit standards. He said the Laurel Sisters still needed two new investigators. So we called them and they sent us to visit this potential and gave us an apartment complex to tract. We knocked the Potentials door, but they were putting their kids to bed and said to come back in the daytime. so we went to find this other complex to tract, but we didn't know where it was, so we turned back to get our GPS, and there was a guy walking his dog, so I said "Hey could we share this card with you?" and then got talking and he is doing the addiction recovery program at the church and he read some of the Book of Mormon in jail and is such a cool guy! It was the craziest thing! we were able to set a return apt. and make him an investigator!
Then Lake Whatcom elders called us and said they were coming to tract with us. So we met at the complex said a prayer and started tracting. We ended up running into a less active and got stuck talking for a while. But after we finished tracting our buildings we went to go find the Elders to see what doors they hadn't knocked. We found them at a door talking to a guy. He became a new investigator! It was a miracle that we were able to help the Laurel Sisters hit standards and we had 15 minutes left till we needed to go home.
4 out of the 5 companions in our district were able to hit standards! it was amazing!
Just got transfer calls! Sister Porter is leaving, Elder Bjork is leaving, the Spanish elders are being white washed, and one of our Zone leaders elder Mendenhall who just got here this transfer is leaving, he has been a Zone leader for over a year!
So crazy.. staying in the Belligham YSA 1/3 of my mission!
Love,
Sister Stokes
